1st Place: $100, Prize Trophy
2nd Place: $50 & Trophy

All applications are “first come & paid, first served.” Entrants may register by mailing in your registration
information or drop off to the following location 601 W. Price St Sylvester, GA 31791 on Monday-
Thursday 9am-5pm.

PAYMENT: WE ACCEPT CASH, CASH APP OR MONEY ORDER. Please make all money orders payable to
“Family Visions Outreach, Inc.” We will provide you a tax receipt if you require one.
DEADLINE: All cook-off entries and monies must be in by Monday June 9, 2023
RULES & REGULATIONS
1. The cook-off will be located at the track and field of old JW Holley School located at 306 Carter
Road Sylvester, GA 31791
2. PARKING: One vehicle per entrant will be permitted in the cook-off area to drop off grills and
supplies between 7am-8am on the day of the event. All vehicles will be removed from the area
by 8am. Parking will be provided for your vehicle during the event in the lot outside of the
building. No vehicle will be permitted to back into the cooking area until after the Festival event ends at 5PM.
3. GRILLER SCHEDULE
Contestants will be allowed to set up grills and booths between 5:00PM & 7:00PM the day before the event
CHECK-IN anytime between 7:00AM and 8:00AM!
Grilling areas must be completely set up by 8:00AM! On the day of the event. Rib cook- off opens to the public at 12:00PM
4. All teams must provide a minimum of 1-2 ribs per plate to be served for judges
5. Contestants must provide:
USDA Approved (Store Bought) Meat & Ingredients
A table or counter in front of your location for serving ribs to judges
Thermometer for testing rib temperature
Your own clean up for during & after the cook-off of your area/station(trash bags)
Any special condiments/sauces for your ribs
6. CONTESTANTS WILL BE PROVIDED WITH:
A specified number for each contestant area. You are highly encouraged to decorate your space!
Plates, utensils for serving your Ribs to the judges
One (1) contestant admission pass and one (1) parking permit.
7. SANITATION: Sanitation is a must! All contestants shall deposit all trash in the appropriate
containers and leave their work area clean. Must comply with health department rules if serving food products.
8. JUDGING: Judging begins at 11:00AM you will be judged by a panel of local judges
1st Place: $100 & Trophy
2nd Place: $50 & Trophy
3rd Place: $25 & Trophy
Each contestant Ribs will be judged based on 1) Aroma 2) Taste 3) After-taste.
THERE WILL BE NO PRECOOKED OR PRESEASON RIBS ALOUD IN THE CONTEST. EVERYTHING
MUST BE DONE ON SIGHT. All decisions of the judges are FINAL.
9. All contestants are responsible to keep peace and stay in order.
WAIVER OF LIABILITY
Family Visions Outreach, Inc. and coordinators of the first Annual Juneteenth Celebration Rib Cook-Off
will NOT be held responsible for any lost, due to accidents, theft, bodily injury and, personal injury and
including loss of property. Parent/Legal Guardian consent is required for all minors
Additionally, I hereby grant full permission to the Family Visions Outreach, Inc. and coordinators and/or
agents authorized by the promoters to use photographs videotapes and other recordings of the 1 st
Annual Juneteenth Celebration Rib Cook-Off including my name/or voice of any legitimate purpose.
